Randy created his first piece of video art in 2004. Entitled By Water, and Blood, and by the Spirit, it depicted a Mormon bapitsmal ceremony structured in a shot-by-shot chiasmus, an ancient Hebraic poetic form; this film, shot and edited on 16mm film, has shown in London, Orem, Brussels, and New York City. Randy followed that with experiments in randomized editing, drawing on film, the use of the extensive long-take, and other methods. His graduate thesis film Wild City was an abstract depiction of London wildlife, and he is currently in postproduction on two other pieces: British Museum, an hour-long single-take tour of world history and imperialism through artifacts in the British Museum in London, and Wash, a minimalist film of a load of laundry washing in a front-loading machine.
